Given the success of the first season, The Wall Project inaugurates a new series of exhibitions continuing its deep and careful research on the latest trends in the discipline of painting in Italy, extending the attention to the design and preliminary stages of this work, such as drawings and works on paper.

The Wall Project is the series of exhibitions curated by Federico Montagna, managing director of Artoday & digital curator, Alessia Romano and Myriam Kuehne Rauner, which involves the most talented emerging painters on the international contemporary art scene. A window where the artists can show a unique and unreleased work that appears on the wall in Angelo della Pergola 1 gallery in Milan. An analogic display in the real world on which the artist shares with the public his latest researches, without using any hashtag, but leaving one written on the wall, instead.

The Wall Project No. 7

#StefanoPerrone

“Giullare (Correfoc)”

8.10.2019 – 15.10.2019

On the occasion of The Wall Project No. 7, the artist Stefano Perrone presents an unreleased canvas created after his last residency at L21 gallery in Mallorca, together with a selection of drawings and studies on paper. Stefano Perrone (1985) is an Italian artist who works between Monza (ITA) and London (UK). He graduated in Industrial Design from Politecnico di Milano in 2008 and began his career in the advertising as an art director, working for Saatchi and Saatchi and McCann Erickson. In 2015 he quit the advertising job to devote himself to art. Perrone is considered a self-taught painter who has developed his own distinctive style: he concentrates his imagery on abstract paintings of figures and still lifes. His body of work presents brightly-saturated visualizations that remarkably depict intriguing concepts of fantasy and surrealism. Some of his recent solo exhibitions are ‘Sympòsion’at Spazio Paestum gallery (Paestum, Italy, 2019), ‘Maschere in Villa’ by Melzi Fine Art gallery (Milan, 2018), ‘Beneath and Beyond’at Palazzo Monti (Brescia, 2017), ‘VOID’ at Absolute art gallery (Lugano,Switzerland, 2017). He has partecipated in numerous group show exhibitions such as ‘Depict the mask’, CGK gallery, (Copenhagen, 2018), ‘Dinamica’, Alon Zakaim Fine Art, (London, 2017) or ‘Meditation’, Systema Gallery (Osaka, 2015)

“ JESTER! JESTER! Come quickly the audience is waiting! ”/ In the court, the followers were pleading loudly: “ /THE USUAL PAINTING/ ” “ /THE USUAL PAINTING/ “, the show that Giullare staged hundreds of times/ the same show other jesters staged before him, the same show other jesters will stage after him. Giullare’s wandering in the backstage/ wearing the usual monocromatic green skin-tight costume: “I can’t do it anymore, I hate repeating myself”.
